Redskins | PUP list likely for Robert Griffin

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (knee) is expected to open training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list, according to sources, giving him more time to heal and the team an extra roster spot to bring another quarterback to camp. The league already has asked the Redskins as to when they might be able to expect Griffin to return from his knee injury so they can know how early in the season to schedule the Redskins for nationally televised games, sources said. The Redskins have told the NFL they are uncertain when to expect Griffin back and they will not know until sometime this summer.

Fantasy Tip: Not great news for Griffin owners, but not entirely surprising, either. It is difficult to know when Griffin will be ready to take the field, as the team doesn't even know at this point. In the short-term, look for the Redskins to sign a quarterback who will compete with Kirk Cousins in training camp. Continue to monitor this situation through the offseason and into the summer.
