Pirates | Francisco Liriano deal still being worked out
Pittsburgh Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said the team continues to work on reaching a deal with SP Francisco Liriano (arm) before spring training. "The process continues," Huntington said. "We have ongoing conversations. I'm not an oddsmaker, so I don't know if it is likely or unlikely that we will add another pitcher." Liriano's injury makes it unlikely that he'll be ready in time for spring training, and it's unknown if he'll be healthy by opening day. The team wants to sign him to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training, but Liriano is holding out for at least a one-year major league contract with a 2014 option.
