Vikings | Need to improve passing offense
The Minnesota Vikings finished the regular season 31st in passing offense, posting 171.9 net yards per game, down from 28th in 2011. The biggest difference was a slip in red-zone touchdown rate, going from ninth in the NFL, to 18th with a 53.8 percent conversion rate. The Vikings also dropped in third-down conversion rate from 14th in the league, to 19th with a 37.1 percent success rate. Despite those numbers, QB Christian Ponder improved in nearly every statistical category, although his performance was uneven over the course of the season.
