Twins | Joe Mauer expected to catch more in 2013

After playing in a career-high 147 games last season while seeing time at catcher, first base and designated hitter, Minnesota Twins C Joe Mauer hopes to see more playing time behind the plate in 2013 after proving he is completely healthy. "I've been preparing for the season to be the everyday catcher," he said. "I can go over to first if they need me to do that. I can DH if they need me to do that, too. The way I've been preparing is catching every day." General manager Terry Ryan said the team is looking for him to catch approximately 120 games, with an occasional start at first base or as a DH.
