Packers | Cedric Benson an option in 2013
Green Bay Packers impending free-agent RB Cedric Benson could very well return as the team's starting running back in 2013. "I think there's a chance for that," Benson said. "At least I sure hope there is. I've been around a long time, and I know it's a strange league. But I really hope I get another chance here."
Fantasy Tip: Benson had his moments as the team's starting running back before going down to injury, but he averaged just 3.5 yards per carry. The fact Benson is even mentioned as a possible starting option in 2013 perhaps says more about the Packers' lack of quality depth at running back. James Starks can't stay healthy, Alex Green averaged just 3.4 yards per carry this season and DuJuan Harris is better suited in a reserve role. Owners should monitor this situation throughout the offseason, as the Packers may also look to select a back in April's NFL Draft.
