Orioles | No extension talks with Matt Wieters yet

The Baltimore Orioles have not initiated talks on a long-term contract extension with C Matt Wieters, who avoided arbitration Friday, Jan. 18, by signing a one-year, $5.5 million deal. He has two years left before he's eligible for free agency. "He has this year and then two more years," executive vice president Dan Duquette said. "I'm sure there will be opportunities to discuss beyond that."
