Cubs | Avoid arbitration with two

The Chicago Cubs avoided arbitration with Ps Jeff Samardzija and James Russell Friday, Jan. 18, by agreeing to one-year deals with both. Samardzija will make $2.64 million and Russell will earn $1.075 million. Samardzija has a chance to make an extra $125,000 in performance bonuses.
