Dodgers | Frustrated with Hanley Ramirez's decision?
The Los Angeles Dodgers may be a bit frustrated with SS Hanley Ramirez's (shoulder) decision to play in the World Baseball Classic for the Dominican Republic. A minor shoulder injury in winter ball kept Ramirez from playing shortstop and now that he'll be playing in the Classic, he won't be able to focus on shortstop in spring training. Toronto Blue Jays SS Jose Reyes and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SS Erick Aybar will be ahead of him at the position for the Dominican, and Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre will likely see all the playing time at third base. "It's hard to discourage a guy from playing for his country," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said at the time. "If I could — if he would listen — I would certainly talk to him because we would like him to play short." General manager Ned Colletti seems to be fine with Ramirez's decision to play in the Classic, though.
