Tigers | Victor Martinez doing well in rehab

Detroit Tigers head athletic trainer Kevin Rand said C Victor Martinez (knee) his doing really well in his rehab from a knee injury. Martinez has been hitting for over a month and is scheduled to start a base running program Friday, Jan. 11. He is expected to begin a regular batting practice routine in early February.

Fantasy Tip: Martinez is trying to return after missing a full year because of his knee injury. Fantasy owners will have to wait to see how he responds when playing in spring training games before being comfortable about his status for the 2013 season. Martinez could be a bargain in drafts because he is coming back from the injury.
