Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jeanmar Gomez could compete for a rotation spot in spring training with SP Francisco Liriano's (arm) contract in limbo following an offseason injury. SPs Kris Johnson, Jeff Locke, Kyle McPherson, Andrew Oliver and Vin Mazzaro could also compete for rotation slots.
