Redskins | Robert Griffin update
Updating a previous item, Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III's (knee) knee surgery is underway Wednesday, Jan. 9. Griffin's lateral collateral ligament will be repaired and doctors will determine the extent of damage to his anterior cruciate ligament, according to a person familiar with the situation. The person added doctors have not yet diagnosed a complete anterior cruciate ligament tear. It's possible that extensive damage to Griffin's ACL will be found but doctors had not determined that to be the case prior to the surgery.
