Raiders | Cap Savings
The San Francisco Chronicle reports the Oakland Raiders saved roughly $1.7 in cap space for 2002 due to the retirement of CB Eric Allen. The saved paying him a $950,000 roster bonus and his remaining base salary of $750,000. The remaining prorated share of his 1998 signing bonus, $1.35 million, still counts against the 2002 cap and the Raiders must take a $1.75 million cap hit for Allen against their 2003 cap.
