Cubs | Matt Garza guarantees he'll be ready
Chicago Cubs SP Matt Garza (elbow) recently received clearance from doctors to begin throwing as he continues to rehab from a right elbow stress reaction that sidelined him for the final 11 weeks of the 2012 regular season. Garza guaranteed he'll be ready for Opening Day. "If spring training started tomorrow, I would be ready to go," Garza said Friday, Dec. 28. "I'm ready to pitch six innings today, but I will be ready to go when the season starts. I will be ready to go Opening Day, that's guaranteed."
