49ers | Justin Smith in doubt

San Francisco 49ers DT Justin Smith (elbow) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 20, and his status for Week 16 is in serious doubt. Head coach Jim Harbaugh has only said that Smith will play "if it's humanly possible." Smith underwent an MRI exam Monday, Dec. 17, but the results haven't been disclosed. DL Ricky Jean-Francois is ready to fill in if Smith can't play.
