Cubs | Close to deal with Edwin Jackson

The Chicago Cubs are close to signing free-agent SP Edwin Jackson (Nationals) to a four-year, $52 million deal. The Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers are also reportedly in on Jackson, with the San Diego Padres dropping out because they were unwilling to go beyond three years. Jackson would presumably join Chicago's starting rotation.
