Jets | More on the Quarterback Front

As an update to previous reports, the New York Times reports New York Jets QB Vinny Testaverde, who is guaranteed $9.5 million if on roster on June 4, will likely renegotiate his contract if the team keeps him for 2002. Testaverde said earlier this week he could be asked to leave the team for financial reasons but GM Terry Bradway hasn't indicated that will be the case. If Testaverde were to leave, backup Chad Pennington would take over as the starter according to a Jets' official on Tuesday. Tory Woodbury would then be in position to take over as the No. 2 QB.
