Mets | R.A. Dickey unlikely to stay if no extension is reached

New York Mets SP R.A. Dickey said he'd almost certainly leave in free agency next winter if the Mets choose to bring him back for the 2013 season on the year remaining in his contract. Dickey insists that he's asking for a far-below-market-value extension with the Mets, and he doesn't appreciate the slow pace of the extension talks. He is looking for a combined $26 to $28 million for the 2014 and 2015 seasons, according to sources. Dickey said he will not negotiate an extension during the season. General manager Sandy Alderson said talks with Dickey are ongoing at this point.
