Giants | Unlikely to land Cody Ross

The San Francisco Giants are unlikely to sign free-agent OF Cody Ross (Red Sox) because Ross is seeking a long-term deal, and the Giants want a one-year deal for a right-handed bat to platoon with OF Gregor Blanco in left field. OF Nick Swisher (Yankees) was ruled out long ago.
