Yankees | Won't pursue A.J. Pierzynski

New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman eliminated the idea that the team will pursue free-agent C A.J. Pierzynski (White Sox), even though the two sides have talked. The team is prepared to enter next year with Cs Chris Stewart and Francisco Cervelli competing for the starting job. C Austin Romine has an outside chance to win the job. "I doubt I can upgrade on what I have catching-wise because the defense is an important aspect for us," Cashman said. "The bats are a secondary aspect."
