Rangers | Michael Young's role unclear
Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington said INF Michael Young's 2013 role has yet to be determined. Young was the primary designated hitter last year but also played quite a bit in the infield. "Michael is a part of this team and as far as I'm concerned he'll continue to be a big part of this team. We've just got to wait and see because there's some youth that's going to be infused and we've just got to wait and see how that process works," Washington said. The team could choose to move 2B Ian Kinsler to first base to make room for SS Jurickson Profar, which would cut into Young's playing time. 1B Mike Olt could also take time away from Young.
