Rockies | Looking for late-inning reliever
The Colorado Rockies are looking for a late-inning reliever who could close out games, according to a major league source. The Rockies went after RP Jordan Walden before he was traded to the Atlanta Braves last week. The Rockies are also looking at Houston Astros RP Wilton Lopez, who was nearly traded to the Philadelphia Phillies. They want to find a reliever who can compete for the closer role with RP Rafael Betancourt. The Rockies are interested in free-agent RP Joakim Soria (Royals), but he won't be joining Colorado, according to a source close to Soria. Free-agent RP Jason Grilli (Pirates) is another option.
