Yankees | Alex Rodriguez surgery details
Updating an ongoing story, New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez (hip) will have arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn labrum, bone impingement and the correction of a cyst in his left hip in January. He must undergo four to six weeks of pre-rehabilitation before the surgery. The Yankees said the surgery on his left hip "will be similar but not identical" to the procedure he had in 2009 on his right hip. He had an MRI after Game 1 of the ALCS on his right hip, which was negative. During a recent check-up the new injury was discovered.
