Orioles | Stuart Pomeranz to miss 2013 season

Updating previous reports, the Baltimore Orioles' decision to designate RP Stuart Pomeranz (back) for assignment and eventually non-tender him was related to a serious lower back injury which will require surgery. The team is expected to arrange the surgery for Pomeranz, who will miss the entire 2013 season. The Orioles may consider re-signing him to a minor league deal.
