Cardinals | One assistant's role expanded
The St. Louis Cardinals plan to increase special assistant Gary LaRocque's influence over player development. "Gary has been a very valuable part of the front office and our player development, and we wanted to give him some autonomy with player personnel issues and other decisions within the system," general manager John Mozeliak said. "This is a shift in responsibilities, but from a day-to-day standpoint the changes will be subtle in appearance and operation."
