Astros | Two signed to minor league deals
The Houston Astros have signed Ps Edgar G. Gonzalez and Jose Valdez to minor league contracts with invites to spring training. They were both outrighted and removed from the 40-man roster on Nov. 1. Gonzalez is expected to compete for a spot in the back end of the Astros' rotation. His contract calls for him to make $525,000 if he's on the Astros roster and includes incentives for games pitched. Valdez will make $500,000 if he is on the roster, and he has the option to sign and play in Japan.
