49ers | Alex Smith expected to be cleared
San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said he believes QB Alex Smith (concussion) will be cleared for contact by the end of the week; however, Harbaugh will not yet reveal his starting quarterback for Week 12.
Fantasy Tip: At this juncture it would appear that Colin Kaepernick has the upper hand to be the team's starting QB this week against the New Orleans Saints. Kaepernick's stellar showing against a formidable Chicago Bears defense helped his cause. Kaepernick is a speculation waiver wire addition in hopes that he can wrestle the starting job away from Smith even when he is fully healthy. Only do so if you're in need of QB insurance.
