Patriots | Rob Gronkowski has broken forearm
Updating a previous report, New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (forearm) suffered a broken forearm late in the Week 11 win against the Indianapolis Colts, a team source confirmed. Gronkowski was injured on the team's final extra point with 3:55 remaining in the fourth quarter. X-rays after the game revealed the injury.
Fantasy Tip: With Gronkowski sidelined, Aaron Hernandez (ankle) appears to be nearing a return and will see a bump in fantasy value. Veterans Visanthe Shiancoe and Daniel Fells might also be called upon to step up, seeing more playing time. However, they are not worth a roster spot in most fantasy leagues even after this injury. As far as Gronkowski, he should be held onto in all fantasy leagues until it is determined exactly how much time he will be forced to miss. If he has a four-to-six-week kind of injury, fantasy owners might be forced to make a difficult decision. WRs Brandon Lloyd and Wes Welker might see increased targets as a result, and the team's stable of running backs might be involved in the passing game more, too.
