Bears | Not ruling Jay Cutler out
Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith said following Week 10 the team has not yet ruled out QB Jay Cutler (concussion) for Week 11. "We're hopeful (that Cutler is available next week), but can't go that far," Smith said. "I just know he had symptoms, which started clearing up after the (first) half. But when a guy doesn't finish the game, you just have to go with that right now." QB Jason Campbell would start if Cutler is unable to play.
Fantasy Tip: Owners must closely monitor Cutler's status during the week. Jason Campbell provides the team a nice insurance policy at quarterback; however, for fantasy purposes, he is more of a "game manager." Look for RB Matt Forte to have an even bigger role should Campbell start, in both the run and short-passing game. Brandon Marshall may also see less targets without Cutler in the lineup. Chicago does not have a favorable Week 11 matchup as they travel to San Francisco to play the 49ers.
