Red Sox | David Ortiz says he didn't quit

Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz responded to former manager Bobby Valentine's statements saying that Ortiz quit during the season because the team was out of the playoff hunt and he was injured. "Stopping me (from playing) was the decision of the doctors, management, the manager and me," Ortiz told ESPNDeportes.com. "The team doctor recommended that I stop playing to not make the situation worse for the tendon."
