Steelers | Mike Wallace wants more deep routes

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Mike Wallace said he has run eight go routes all season, including three as a decoy. Last season, he ran nearly five a game. Wallace is hoping to run more deep routes the rest of this season. "I used to go deep a lot last year, until eventually I was just clearing it out for (Antonio Brown) and Hines (Ward). Now, I haven't really gone much deep. Hopefully, we will," Wallace said. Under new offensive coordinator Todd Haley, the scheme is built off short routes and quick passes, which take away Wallace's best attribute - his straight-ahead speed. Wallace has seen his career average of 18.7 yards per reception drop to 12.8 this season; however, he is on pace for a career-high in receptions.
