Lions | Calvin Johnson injury update
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (knee), continuing previous reports, has not missed a game since Week 17 of the 2010 season, which leaves room for hope that he'll play in Week 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Johnson has not practiced for three consecutive days, but head coach Jim Schwartz isn't ready to count Johnson out just yet.
"He's done it before (played without practicing). He obviously knows our offense, and then his health is the most important thing," Schwartz said Friday, Nov. 2. This is the first time Johnson has missed the entire week of practice from his current knee injury, which he has dealt with the past three weeks.
Even if Johnson is not 100 percent healthy, his presence on the field can open up plays for the team's other receivers.
