Yankees | Have decisions to make

The New York Yankees must decide by Friday, Nov. 2, if they will extend qualifying offers to free-agent OFs Nick Swisher, Ichiro Suzuki and Raul Ibanez and SPs Hiroki Kuroda and Andy Pettitte and C Russell Martin. The Yanks are expected to extend the offers to Swisher and Kuroda, but not Suzuki, Ibanez, Pettitte or Martin. Swisher does not fit the team's plan moving forward and is likely to reject the offer since he's seeking a long-term deal. The team wants to bring back Pettitte and Martin, but they think they can sign them for less than $13.3 million.
