Yankees | Rafael Soriano opts out
New York Yankees RP Rafael Soriano exercised his $1.5 million opt-out clause Wednesday, Oct. 31, making him a free agent. However, the Yanks will counter by offering him the $13.3 million qualifying offer by Friday, Nov. 2, meaning he could choose to return and enter multi-year negotiations. He'd be guaranteed $14.8 million with his qualifying offer. He's believed to be looking for a four-year deal after his successful season, but the Yankees will likely only give him two years.
