Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur inserted TE E. Alex Smith in at fullback in Week 8 against the San Diego Chargers, and he made FB Owen Marecic a healthy inactive. "I wanted to get Alex back on the field. I wanted to have a defined role for him, because I think he brings some energy to our team," Shurmur said.
