Red Sox | David Ortiz update
Updating a previous report, the Boston Red Sox and DH David Ortiz (Achilles') have agreed to a two-year deal, but the two sides are still working out compensation, according to a source. Ortiz is thought to be seeking $25 million, but the BoSox want to sign him for a few million less. However, the negotiations aren't expected to be a deal-breaker. The team hopes to finalize the deal by Friday, Oct. 26. Ortiz, who missed much of the late part of the season with a right Achilles' strain, said he's fine and will resume his offseason workouts soon.
