NASCAR | Nationwide field shrinking
NASCAR announced Wednesday, Oct. 17, that the Nationwide Series field of 43 cars will shrink to 40 cars next season. The Sprint Cup Series will remain at 43 cars, though, and the Truck Series will remain at 36. The 36 fastest cars in the Nationwide Series will make the race on speed, followed by the next six highest-ranking cars in owner's points and one spot for the most recent eligible past champion.
