Nationals | Sean Burnett to undergo surgery
Washington Nationals RP Sean Burnett (elbow) is reportedly scheduled to undergo surgery next week to remove one or two small bone spurs in his left elbow. The procedure is considered minor and is unlikely to affect his offseason throwing program. Burnett had spent most of the second half of the season battling elbow discomfort due to the bone spurs. He and the Nationals hold a mutual option for next season worth $3.5 million, although he could opt to become a free agent.
