Jets | Drew Stanton could have started

Indianapolis Colts QB Drew Stanton, who was traded from the New York Jets in the offseason, said he was told by the Jets that he would have a chance at starting if QB Mark Sanchez struggled. "Had Mark (Sanchez) struggled, they said I'd have a chance to play," Stanton said. "So there was no better opportunity than that, and I was excited about it." Stanton signed with the Jets last March. The team traded for QB Tim Tebow five days later. Stanton immediately requested a trade and was dealt to the Colts.
