Giants | Receptive to re-signing Melky Cabrera

The San Francisco Giants reinstated OF Melky Cabrera to the 40-man roster Friday, Oct. 12, but the team reiterated that he will not play in the postseason. However, the team is actually open to re-signing Cabrera after this season, as many within the organization still view him as a talented two-way player coming into his prime. He'll also be a relative bargain following his 50-game suspension for using a banned substance.
