Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander allowed one earned run, three hits and four walks over seven innings in Game 1 of the American League Division Series Saturday, Oct. 6, against the Oakland Athletics. He struck out 11 batters in the impressive 121-pitch quality start. "Early on, didn't have great control of any of my pitchers," Verlander said. "But I was able to get myself out of jams that I created."
