Giants | Melky Cabrera not in playoff plans

The San Francisco Giants do not plan on adding OF Melky Cabrera to their playoff roster after he was suspended for 50 games for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. Cabrera would be eligible to play in the Championship Series if the team advances that far, but they have no current plans to use him if they advance to that point. Cabrera will be allowed to work out in the instructional league 10 days before his suspension is lifted.
