Angels | Have historic pitching performance

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Zack Greinke became the first pitcher in the modern era to strike out 13 hitters in only five innings Tuesday, Sept. 25, and the team combined to fan 20 hitters in the game, which tied a major league record for strikeouts in a nine-inning contest. The Chicago Cubs (1998) and Boston Red Sox (1986, 1996) have also accomplished this. The Angels were the first team to do it by using multiple pitchers.
