NFL | Several sticking points in ref negotiations
Updating a previous item, negotiators for the NFL and the NFL Referees Assocation met until 2:00 a.m. EST Wednesday, Sept. 26, in an attempt to iron out their differences in the lockout but did not reach a deal, according to a source. Differences remain on several issues, including pensions for the officials and the process by which the NFL evaluates referees. The sides are expected to resume talks, though it's not clear if those will be face-to-face meetings or simply the passing of information back and forth between the sides.
