Patriots | Wes Welker missed seven pass plays

New England Patriots WR Wes Welker was off the field for 24 total plays in Week 1 versus the Tennessee Titans, but 14 of those players were runs, two were goal-line plays and one was a kneel. Welker wasn't on the field for only seven passing plays in the entire game. Welker and WR Julian Edelman were on the field together for many plays, and TE Aaron Hernandez split out wide for 22 plays, cutting into Welker's playing time more than Edelman. Perhaps hindering Welker's total of targets (five) the most was the fact that New England ran the ball 35 times in the game.
