Orioles | Nick Markakis to undergo series of tests on thumb

Baltimore Orioles OF Nick Markakis (thumb) will undergo a series of tests over the next few days to determine if he will need to have surgery on his broken left thumb. He received a CAT scan and was scheduled to see a hand specialist at Johns Hopkins University Sunday, Sept. 9, and will undergo an MRI exam Monday, Sept. 10. Markakis could also be sent to visit a hand specialist in Sarasota, Fla., where he owns a winter home.
