Phillies | John Mayberry playing better
Philadelphia Phillies OF John Mayberry Jr. is hitting better now that he's been playing more often. He hit .230 with 55 hits, 13 doubles, eight home runs and 25 RBIs in his first 55 games through July, but he's hitting .301 with 34 hits, six doubles, six home runs and 15 RBIs in 29 games since the team traded away OFs Shane Victorino and Hunter Pence. However, Charlie Manuel still wants to see more success from Mayberry against righties before he's considered a regular. Mayberry is hitting .297 with eight home runs and 19 RBIs against southpaws but is hitting only .224 with six home runs and 21 RBIs against right-handers in 76 more at-bats.
