Athletics | Brandon Inge to undergo season-ending surgery

Oakland Athletics 3B Brandon Inge (shoulder) will undergo season-ending surgery in one or two weeks to repair his dislocated right shoulder. He is expected to need six months to recover. Inge's shoulder had given him trouble when throwing but did not affect him at the plate. He aggravated the injury while making a throw from third base during the third inning of a game against the Boston Red Sox Saturday, Sept. 1.
