Mets | Reversing plan with Josh Thole
The New York Mets are reversing their plan with C Josh Thole after the team encouraged him to pull the ball more when his batting average started to dip. "We're trying to get him to re-establish his swing from two years ago," manager Terry Collins said. "We want him to shorten his swing, shorten up on the bat, have less violent a swing." Thole is hitting .238 with an on-base percentage of .298 this year, which are both career lows. His slugging percentage of .292 is also a career low.
