Red Sox | Unlikely to pursue high-dollar free agents
The Boston Red Sox are unlikely to go after Texas Rangers OF Josh Hamilton or Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Zack Greinke in the offseason when they become free agents just because they unloaded a ton of payroll in their blockbuster deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. "I can't see the Red Sox as a dumping ground," said one American League executive. "Not now. The (payroll) flexibility is too appealing."
