Astros | Justin Maxwell available to hit

Houston Astros OF Justin Maxwell (finger) underwent a pain-killing injection earlier this week and added protection in his batting glove. As a result, he was available to hit Thursday, Aug. 30. "We had to modify the batting glove and put some padding on it so I'll finish out the rest of the season and allow it to fully heal in the offseason so I can help the team win some games here in September, if not today," Maxwell said. He said none of the injuries he suffered this year will require offseason surgery.
